But every now and then, you get one answer that’s just truly bizarro, like this article that suggests **wait for it** wearing nipple covers underneath a padded bra.

It’s not untrue that foam padded bras and molded cups will attempt to hide your nipples under clothing. But if yours are anything like mine, they will poke their way right through. 

Many proclaimed smoothing and concealing t-shirt bras do indeed provide some level of nipple coverage. But there are trade-offs when wearing thick, stiff foam padding:

• Foam padding does not breathe because, well, it's plastic. Yes, no wonder the boob sweat.
• Molded cups and thick padding enhance your natural breast size, which is frustrating when all you want is the dang bra to hide your nips without  making your boobs look like weird little orbs.
• If you’re a member of the itty-bitty-titty-committee, you already know: gaping cups. Why attempt to hide your nipples when you can inadvertently flash them to everyone each time you lean over??

And if you’re adding layers, like silicone nipple covers, underneath a mass of foam padding? I can't even.  But sure, if you’re willing to wear all that business, it will help in the nipple coverage department. 

Lightly lined bras also provide some coverage. If your nipples are mostly soft and flat (love that for you), maybe just a little lining is enough. But if you have especially perky nipples that seem to have a mind of their own, or if you want to hide nipple jewelry at work, a lightly lined bra will not do the trick.
